The Business Controller is part of our Business Control department and reports to the Manager Business Control. The Business Controller is part of the Finance Operations Team of West Coast Supply Group and is responsible for Business Control task related to assigned Commercial Divisions and/or Enabling Functions Departments.

The Business Controller is a team player and has sufficient experience to provide reports, insights and analysis to her/his stakeholders to support their decision making. She/he is enthusiastic to further professionalize the Business Control department and its deliverables. High Performance is embedded in the team by making work processes as efficient as possible and incorporate new requests or insights in their way of working after evaluation with the team

In your role as Business Controller you will be responsible for:

Monthly Closing process:

• Review the monthly figures of Commercial Divisions and Enabling Function Departments to give insight in the developments, specials and one-offs of the month;
• Connect with other sub-teams within the Finance department (e.g. Treasury, Credit Control, Financial Control, etc.) to be aware of the latest (financial) developments of your Division;
• Analyse the monthly Commercial Divisions and Enabling Function Departments P&L and KPI dashboard(s) and provide qualitative and quantitative comments on trends and suggest concrete action points to support the business performance;
• Lead the monthly business review meeting;
• Support the Senior Business Controllers with providing detailed analysis for their qualitative and quantitative comments and insights for the monthly Board and MT-dashboard.

Budget process:

• Support the Leadership Teams in preparing/updating their 3 years business plan;
• Be responsible for preparing the annual budget of the upcoming year for the Division/Department you are responsible for;
• Support the Business Control team to finalize the Group budget;
• Be responsible for updating the forecast on a quarterly basis.

Recurring/ad hoc requests:

• Person of contact for Commercial Divisions and Enabling Function Departments for analytical questions;
• Analyzing and reporting on financial and non-financial insights based on ad-hoc business needs;
• Analyze trends based on historical data to be able to give insights to the business.

Other:

• Support the Senior Business Controllers in preparing business update reports for external partnerships;
• Update existing (KPI) reports to remain an added value towards the business.

• Contribute to Business Control team discussions and go the extra mile to support the high performance team culture.
  

This is you!

• Master of Science in Business Administration;
• Fluent in Dutch and English;
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a business controller;
• Experience in logistics/warehouse sector is a plus;
• Experience and/or affinity with ESG is an advantage;
• You bring a healthy business acumen and you act as a business partner between finance and the organization;
• Act as an entrepreneur: you are able to work independently, while at the same time you realize and act as an integral part of the team;
• Show initiative, you are driven by results and you think in opportunities.
